As graduation week approaches, Gradlinc caught up with Nelisa Mabaso and spoke to her about her hopes and aspirations around graduating, as well as her plans for next year. Nelisa began her academic journey studying mechanical engineering at the University of Stellenbosch but later changed it to Industrial engineering. She felt that Industrial Engineering would provide her with a more well balanced degree that not only challenged her, but that would allow her to work in any industry and not just engineering. Next year, she will be working as an industrial engineer for Takealot and hopes to pursue her Masters part time. When we asked Nelisa how she feels about graduation, she said that she is mostly ecstatic at finally reaching her enormous milestone but that a small part of her remains nervous about her future. She wants to make sure that she accepts the right opportunities for this next phase of her life. After her graduation ceremony, Nelisa will be travelling with her family to the South Coast of Kwa Zulu Natal and is looking forward to some R&R before she begins her new employment adventure.
